When I had my first child, I was so excited to document his first year of life.
There are so many cute pictures of baby’s online who are dressed nicely while laying on blankets or next to certain signs that proudly state the new month of the baby.
I was curious to do something similar. However, I wanted to do something that was both unique and quick/easy to put together.
Thus, these embroidery patterns were born!
They were perfect because I could (1) choose which font I wanted, (2) choose which color & stitch pattern I wanted, and (3) I could put them together last minute.
These embroidery patterns require very little time to stitch up, which is absolutely perfect for a new momma.
I pray that they are as delightful to you as they were to me!
Notes on the Baby Milestone Embroidery Patterns
These embroidery patterns are incredibly simple and easy to do. You may prepare all 12 months at once, but due to the simplicity of the patterns, it would be reasonable to do them as needed.
I, personally, prepared an embroidery hoop a day or two before my son turned the specified age. And, it took so little time to put together that I never had to worry or stress about finishing the pattern on time!
These patterns also feature 2 different font styles. This means that you can really have fun with this project and make it your own! Simply choose your preferred font and thread color (or change the color monthly), then begin stitching!
Download, Print, & Create!
Choose your favorite number font from the list below! All of the patterns come as a free pdf download. Once the download is saved to your computer, you can print it out onto any standard US letter sized paper.
These free baby monthly milestone hand embroidery patterns automatically download to fill a whole sheet of standard US letter paper. So, you will most likely need to resize the pattern to make it your preferred size.
On most computers, this can easily be done by adjusting the scale of the image in the print settings. (e.g.- download image -> print -> advanced settings -> scale).

Stitch Suggestions for the Baby Milestone Embroidery Patterns
There are three different stitches that I would recommend using for the Baby Milestone Embroidery Patterns. These three stitches are: the back stitch, stem stitch, and chain stitch.
Back Stitch: The back stitch is the most basic stitch that could be used for these embroidery patterns. It would work well with either of the fonts given!
Stem Stitch: The stem stitch typically pairs very well with cursive fonts, therefor it would be beautiful if used with the cursive numbers provided!
Chain Stitch: This is the perfect stitch to use if you want your numbers (specifically the print numbers) to really pop. The chain stitch tends to cover more surface area of the fabric, causing the numbers to look larger.
Recommended Thread Colors
The thread colors that I used for these three hoops shown below are: DMC’s embroidery floss #3688, #800, and #03.
However, you can’t really go wrong with any color! Feel free to match the color to your baby’s gender, nursery theme, or simply whichever color you are feeling that day!
